Prime 490 has grown from their origins as a steakhouse to include seafood and a wide range of original dishes. Of course, you can order prime cuts of beef and their amazing sides. But, we recently were treated to some unique creations such as the Chilled Lobster Salad: pico de gallo, mango salsa, roasted red pepper, baby arugula & citrus vinaigrette. And the Tomato & Mozzarella Salad with fresh basil & red onion, topped with basil oil & balsamic reduction. The appetizer was the Risotto Croquette: paella style with shrimp, lobster, sausage & chicken finished with a citrus mango sauce. The first entree was the Wasabi Pea Crusted Pan Seared Tuna served with Asian slaw & pickled ginger lemon glaze. Tucked away on Rhode Island Ave, a block from Richmond is a terrific restaurant featuring amazing cuts of beef, perfectly prepared and a vast wine selection, all in a relaxed, casual setting. We sampled the Banana Peppers stuffed with sausage and ricotta served over fire roasted pepper sauce. Then there was the 8 oz Filet Mignon topped with tobacco onions served with mashed potatoes & asparagus. Prime 490 also offers other delicious menu choices including pastas & seafoods. Try the Pan Seared Jumbo Scallops topped with lemon burre blanc, served with fresh tomato & olive risotto & asparagus. And for dessert: Chocolate Cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting - creamy, rich & delicious, but not too heavy. Treat yourself at Prime 490. Prime 490 showcases a wide range of wines in it's glass encased wine room between the bar and the dining room, with selections to compliment the expertly prepared dishes. Photos include an appetizer of succulent scallops, baby arugula salad, lobster mac & cheese, delicious sea bass & the star attraction: a 16 oz rib-eye steak. Prime 490 is a new steakhouse in Buffalo with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Located on Rhode Island Street, the newly remodeled restaurant is both elegant & warm. The dishes we recently sampled, prepared by chef Jim Hanson were delectable. Highly recommended are: Deep Fried Balsamic Glazed Filet Mignon, Pan Seared Wasabi Dusted Ahi Tuna, and the Crispy Cajun Crab Cakes.
